Leading Portuguese Events Company opens in Spain through acquisition as it strengthens its presence in South Americaevents by tlc which has been operating events in Portugal for the past 10 years, starts operating in Spain through the acquisition of the majority of Olé Special Events. The new company, which is rebranded as events by tlc in Spain, is part of the Group's expansion strategy that, over the next four years, will see it have a strong presence in the Iberian Peninsula and South and Latin America.
According to Diogo Assis, CEO of events by tlc, “Opening in Spain is a logical step to continue our expansion in the South and Latin American markets, where we already have operation in Brazil. We want to capitalize on the synergies between the Iberian Peninsula and South America, such as the language, the history, diplomatic relations and even the air routes.”
Over 12 years, Olé Special Events has developed corporate and association events for a wide range of international clients many of whom do not overlap.
"We found in Olé Special Events a solid company, experienced, with in-depth knowledge of the Spanish market and shares our philosophy of work and ambition, which was crucial to move forward", says Assis.
Angeles Moreno, founder of Olé Special Events and now general manager of events by tlc in Spain, believes the operation will strengthen the company she manages. “Being integrated in an internationally recognised group, with a vision of growth in the medium and long term, we become stronger to develop new markets.”
With a sales office presence in Benelux, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom and the USA, events by tlc estimates a global revenue of €17 million in 2014, 65% will come from overseas markets.
“This is going to be a year of controlled growth for the group. Besides the entry in Spain, we will have the World Cup in Brazil which has a number of key events confirmed”, claims Assis.
