Conference Care engage with independent venues

Conference Care held the first mini-expo of the year on Wednesday 5th February, continuing their successful programme of events into 2014.
In an unusual move, the venue finding and event management agency opened their doors to independent venues by holding their first mini expo in 2012

It was a golden opportunity for venues who are not part of a major hotel group to spend quality time with Events Consultants and gain a true insight to scope and scale of work undertaken on a day to day basis. They received a presentation on the business by Director Andrew Deakin, followed by an open forum, where an engaging question and answer session took place.

The event proved so beneficial to the Conference Care team, the venues attending, and subsequently Conference Care’s clients, that a programme of Independent Venue Expo’s was created. The expos have since gone from strength to strength, with over 200 venues having attended since the programme began, and today’s was no exception with representatives from venues including: Manchester United Football Club, Rudding Park, The Mermaid Conference Centre, Brownsword Hotels, Stoke Place, Heart of England Conference & Events Centre, Longleat House & Safari, The National Motor Cycle Museum and The Coppid Beech Hotel. Katie Mayger, Head of Sales & Marketing at The Coppid Beech Hotel, said ‘we had a brilliant insight from Andrew, I came away with an in depth knowledge of Conference Care, how we can convert opportunities and further develop our relationship going forward in 2014.’

Deakin said ‘our clients often require something a little unusual or unique in their choice of venue - in 2013, Conference Care placed £5 million pounds worth of business into venues which were not part of a group. In order for our clients to benefit from the added value of strong relationships, it is vital that we continue to communicate openly and work in partnership with these venues as the market gains strength.’
