Stars and guests dine with Moving Venue at Barclaycard Mercury Prize

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2013
The Barclaycard Mercury Prize saw over 1,000 high profile guests from the music industry celebrate the great British albums releases of the past 12 months on Wednesday 30th October. The event took place at Camden’s Roundhouse – one of the largest dinners at this iconic venue – and was catered for by Moving Venue.

This is the second year Moving Venue has been appointed to cater for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize, and the company’s team of chefs created a menu which featured:
Starter - Herb and red pepper risotto with sweet red pepper puree and feta foam
Main- Thai marinated monkfish, sweet potato fondant, pak choi, Thai red curry sauce
Dessert - Chocolate and raspberry teardrop dessert with raspberry sorbet, shaved chocolate, red caramel crisp

The Roundhouse has always been synonymous with London’s buzzing music scene and is widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s most iconic venues. The majority of Awards Show guests were hosted on tables in the venue’s cavernous Main Space, with further tiered seating available on the balcony.

The 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize shortlist included Rudimental, Laura Marling, Laura Mvula, Disclosure, Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg. James Blake was announced as the overall winner of the coveted award on the night live on Channel 4. The ceremony was hosted by Lauren Laverne, with Nick Grimshaw presenting coverage from the exclusive Barclaycard Unwind Backstage Bar at the Roundhouse.

Gail Heron, sales and marketing manager at Moving Venue, said: "We are well known for catering at some of London’s most prestigious large dinners and awards ceremonies, and we have to, as always, ensure the quality of food is on par with the prominent guests who attend. We put a huge amount of effort into planning the logistical challenges before they are presented to us to ensure keeping to a live TV schedule. Once again, it was fantastic to see what a success the evening was, with the winner announced live on Channel 4 at 10pm.”

Jack Franklin, head of events at the Roundhouse, said: “The fantastic knowledge and experience of our preferred suppliers here at the Roundhouse is a real asset to our events clients. We have a great relationship with Moving Venue and were delighted with the quality of their food and execution of service once again.”
