Charlton House hits the mark with winning bid to cater iconic TV studiosMaidstone Studios CEO, Rowland Kinch, said he is excited to start the first phase in updating the catering facility for clients and guests supporting the fantastic media and office provision already at Maidstone Studios. Charlton House - the specialist in high quality staff catering services in business and industry environments - has been brought in to provide staff, TV crew, guest and audience catering for Maidstone Studios in Kent, home to BBC Later….with Jools Holland and hit ITV show Take Me Out.
Commencing November 2013, the contract is to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks plus full hospitality services for up to 800 staff, film crew, cast members and studio audience members within an existing full service staff restaurant setting and a brand new facility; “The Diner” which is being installed this month, ahead of filming commencing for the new series of Take Me Out. “The Diner” will feature a bar and will serve hot and cold grab and go meals aimed at crew and audience members during TV filming. The restaurant, which is scheduled for a complete refurbishment in 2014, will be remodeled to reflect the high standard and variety of food on offer, bringing a more contemporary and modern edge to the facility and will be rebranded as “The Kitchen”.
Charlton House won the contract, which was previously handled in-house, on the back of its reputation for delivering on its promises and for bringing innovation, creativity and high standards of service and food to workplace dining. Given the highly fluid nature of the headcount at Maidstone Studios, it is planned that a core team of six Charlton House staff will run the catering facility with additional staff recruited to assist on filming days and for functions and after show parties.
