When a national broadcaster in the UK wanted to save money on ground transportation, it turned to One Transport to help reduce paperwork and ensure the best prices.
The move ended up saving the broadcaster in excess of £1 million in a single year.
That, say executives of One Transport, a London-based transport management service, is just the tip of the iceberg for the company poised to revolutionize corporate ground travel management.
One Transport books online, taxis, private hire, couriers and even buses, all pulled from an extensive network of business partners across the United Kingdom—and increasingly, across the world. One Transport’s virtual fleet tracking, called “where’s my car” consists of more than 500 car, courier and taxi companies nationally, providing full access to more than 30,000 vehicles throughout the whole of the United Kingdom. Last summer, the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) contracted One Transport to manage shuttle transport for the Games. Thousands of athletes, press, staff and volunteers were moved seamlessly during the exceptionally busy Games period.
Fast forward to this year, where One Transport has recently added a number of new clients, including government offices, banks, investment management companies, law firms, and charities, all of whom have an eye on saving money in these austere times.
“Around one third of all public spending is the cost associated with procurement. One Transport can reduce this expenditure by, on average, 19%,”said Geoffrey Riesel, CEO of One Transport.
Here’s how One Transport works: Previously, corporate travel offices had to book ground transportation from hundreds of different companies. Those companies then generated thousands of invoices. With One Transport, clients book online and the rules engine gets to work based on the clients own choice, they then receive a single itemized invoice, thereby reducing the bureaucracy of paperwork.
One Transport has the bargaining power to leverage and then strictly monitor the fares of its partner transportation companies passing large savings on to the client. Customers can set rules for the type of service desired, such as the range of price or type of vehicle. One Transport’s online booking platform makes service even easier, with reservations made in just a few clicks. One Transport can set up any new client with the service within a 24-hour period.
“One Transport is what allows busy transport managers to stop wasting time dealing with dozens of different people,” Riesel said. “This will benefit any company, big or small, as well as any government office. One Transport can make huge savings for companies, local authorities, local government and government departments.”
