The Appointment Group's 25 year anniversary

The 1st of September this year marked the 25th anniversary of the launch of The Appointment Group (TAG), or Travel By Appointment as we were known back then. Previously trading as a small ticketing operation in Sheffield, the company was purchased by current owners Maurice Veronique and John Gianquitto in August 1988.

Working with three staff members out of Veronique’s flat, predominantly with the touring music industry and managing the corporate travel account of the “soon to become infamous” Barings Bank. TAG has since then evolved into a multi-functional international organisation with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne operating across every area of travel and event management.

TBA was the first company in The Appointment Group to be established in 1988. Recognising the need to diversify in response to growing client needs, Events By Appointment (EBA), Music By Appointment (MBA) and Leisure By Appointment (LBA), were each established as independent trading companies of The Appointment Group, which was formed as the privately owned group holding company in 1998.

In 2008 TAG opened in New York to provide the same calibre of service to our clients in the U.S. Following the success of the New York Operation we opened in Los Angeles two years later. In January this year we added to our portfolio of offices by opening in Melbourne, allowing us to truly manage our clients’ needs on an international basis.

TAG will be celebrating 25 highly successful years with its staff, clients and guests in the typical TAG party fashion at the Café Royal Hotel on the 26th of September.
