Visit Flanders appoints RAM Org

‘We are really going to bring Flanders to life for the UK market’, says Andrew Daines

The London office of Visit Flanders has agreed a two and a half year contract with RAM Org, the specialists in beefing up the marketing of MICE destinations.
According to Andrew Daines, Visit Flanders Director for UK & Ireland: ‘We are confident that they are really going to bring Flanders to life for the UK market. We wanted to align ourselves with an organisation that could share our vision and help us to achieve our aims in promoting this important region. RAM Org understood this and we were delighted with their approach, creativity and the passion which really shone through.’

This new contract represents an important first step in a plan for the company’s expansion. John Kelly, who gained wide-ranging MICE experience in senior posts with the event agency Zibrant and then the Melia Hotels group, has recently become joint owner of RAM Org with its founder Judy Till.

Speaking about the news, John says: ‘When I joined RAM I said that we wanted to work with clients that we can be truly passionate about - and Visit Flanders certainly fits this criteria. We’ve been talking to them now for a few months and we recently spent a week in the region looking at Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp to see what they had to offer for the MICE market.

‘I have to say that a lot of misperceptions were blown away by what we saw. These destinations have amazing venues, ease of international access, great transport links, stunning gastronomy and, most importantly, people that are passionate about what they do. They have a real desire to work alongside UK MICE agents to deliver amazing events.’

Judy Till adds: ‘We pride ourselves on our great relationships with both agency and supplier clients and welcome Visit Flanders to our ‘family. It is an area that many people know but don’t always appreciate where or what it is. Brussels and Bruges are well known to the UK MICE market, but some of the smaller towns and cities deserve a lot more recognition and would be perfect for UK buyers looking for somewhere different, but actually very close and easy to get to. On our visit we found Michelin-starred restaurants everywhere and experienced some astonishing cuisine. We are looking forward to bringing a taste of this to UK buyers in the coming months’.
