Middle Temple and Westminster Abbey both add Ampersand Events to their approved suppliers’ listsWhile 12th August is traditionally glorious for grouse lovers, Ampersand Events has landed a glorious brace of quite a different kind – two new venue wins. The business, which offers bespoke event catering and impeccable service in some of the most famous venues in London, has been chosen by both Middle Temple and Westminster Abbey to partner with them on their list of approved suppliers. The venues have almost matchless histories.
Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court which have the exclusive right to call students to the Bar. The Inn’s estate on the banks of the Thames dates back to 1608 and its beautiful buildings have been used as the historic backdrop for prestigious events – remarkably it has hosted both the premier of a Shakespeare play and almost 400 years’ later the filming of movie Shakespeare in Love! It can accommodate parties ranging from 20 to 700 guests.
Westminster Abbey has been the setting for Coronations since 1066 and has witnessed numerous royal Coronations, weddings and funerals. It is central to the life of the nation and is one of Britain’s major tourist attractions. It has five venues for events: the Undercroft Museum, Cheyneygates, and in summer, the East Cloister, Saint Catherine’s Chapel Garden and College Garden – which has been cultivated for 900 years. It can accommodate small parties or groups of up to 500 people.
Westminster Abbey’s Beth Boxall said: “we are delighted to add Ampersand to our list of accredited caterers here at the Abbey, and look forward to working with them on prestigious events in our beautiful historic spaces”
Ampersand Event’s announcements build on successes over the last 12 months that saw sales rise 150% and includes wins with: The London Transport Museum, The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The Museum of London, Wakehurst Place, and The Cutty Sark. Other clients include: Chiswick House, Trinity House, Kensington Palace, Royal Institute of British Architects, Banqueting House, London Zoo and Kew Palace.
Ampersand Head of Sales & Operations Natalie Mainwaring commented: “These two prestigious appointments in August add to our six awesome successes last year. We are absolutely delighted to be working with them and look forward to taking these new partnerships forward.”
