The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) publishes its convention statistics for 2016

Cologne’s market for congresses and conventions is looking back at a generally constant event year. That’s the conclusion of the current TagungsBarometer, a survey of convention centres, conference hotels and event locations that is conducted regularly by the Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) in cooperation with the Europäisches Institut für TagungWirtschaft (EITW).

Event Apprenticeships: ‘Use it or Lose it’ says Realise

Realise, the event industry’s first approved training provider for event apprenticeships, have urged the industry to ‘use it or lose it’ when it comes to the apprenticeship levy, introduced by the government, that begins in May 2017. The company is also calling apprenticeships a once in a lifetime opportunity for the industry.

New golfing initiative launched to showcase that Aberdeenshire Golf is above par for visitors

A new initiative to market the comprehensive golf product in the north east of Scotland is launched today (Monday 20 February 2017). Bringing together golf courses, hotels and tour operators, GolfAberdeenshire will raise the profile of the area as a key golfing destination and will work to further develop the golf product. Golf tour operators will also be a partner in the initiative which aims to establish the area as a golfing Mecca for domestic and international golfers.

If all of them chose to take their travels somewhere else next year, the estimated cost to the US economy would exceed $1.5 billion.
