Gregg Wallace appoints new Head Chef at his Gregg's Table restaurant in Bermondsey

Gregg Wallace has announced the appointment of Jordi Vila as the new Head Chef of Gregg’s Table restaurant and bar located in Bermondsey Square, London. Previously Jordi has worked at two Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in London’s Covent Garden, and was privileged to be at the three Michelin-starred El Bulli, Spain, working in the creative team under right-hand man Oriol Castro.  

After a soft opening, the founders of Gregg’s Table have taken on board all comments and suggestions, which have resulted in an AA Rosette award received just last week. With Jordi at the helm to implement his twist on the classic British menu, all those involved in the restaurant are moving forward with a very positive outlook.

Robert Holland, General Manager of The Bermondsey Square Hotel said: “Whilst we have experienced a lively start to the opening of Gregg’s Table, we have listened carefully to our customers and adapted the menu accordingly. Jordi is a very talented chef with a fantastic track record and we are sure that he will take the execution of the dishes to a high level.”

34-year-old Spanish-born Jordi brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in top restaurants in Europe and New Zealand. Jordi’s most recent role was Head Chef at the fine dining restaurant Vivat Bacchus in London, following a two year stint as Sous Chef to Nuno Mendes.

“We are absolutely delighted Jordi has come on board. His experience is second to none and we look forward to working together to develop the Gregg’s Table concept and offering,” commented Gregg Wallace.
