Silverstone appoints new Sales Manager for the Silverstone Wing

Silverstone Circuits Limited has appointed Daniel Whittemore as the new Sales Manager for its state-of-the-art conferencing, exhibition and event facility – the Silverstone Wing.
Whittemore has been working at Silverstone for 12 years and for the last six years has been managing the Corporate Sales Team at Silverstone, covering event hospitality, corporate driving, track hire and conferencing.

In Whittemore’s new role he will be responsible for creating a new conference and banqueting team, focused on generating sales, identifying potential customer partnerships, developing mutually beneficial supplier relationships and managing customer relations for the Silverstone Wing.

The Wing offers contemporary conferencing, exhibition and event facilities, with combined floor space of over 4,300m² in the main building, holding up to 3,500 people, and an additional 5,768m² of exhibition space in the pit garages. The circuit also boasts substantial outdoor space, ranging from hard standing car parks and paddocks to the race circuits and grassed in-field areas.

“With six years of experience managing the Corporate Sales Team at Silverstone, I’m thrilled to be appointed the new Sales Manager - Conference and Banqueting,” commented Whittemore. “The Wing is a fantastic new conference, exhibition and event facility, and is already generating considerable interest within the industry. This opportunity presents a new set of challenges and responsibilities which I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into.”

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, said: "Daniel’s breadth of experience and knowledge made this an easy appointment. As Silverstone grows as a destination venue, Daniel will find himself a key asset to the development of the Silverstone Wing."
