UBM Live appoints Jim Buckley as Informex Brand Director
Leading events organiser UBM Live, a division of UBM Plc, has announced the appointment of Jim Buckley as the new Brand Director for Informex. The Informex brand brings together buyers and sellers of high value chemistry via a comprehensive calendar of conferences and events, the highlight of which is its annual US tradeshow which is run in partnership with the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Associates (SOCMA). Most recently, Jim was Vice President of Sales at the International Exposition Center in Cleveland.Prior to his time in Cleveland, Jim gained extensive experience in the tradeshow world, spending 17 years with Reed Exhibitions. Over this time, he worked on 15 different international business-to-business events, all of which were either run in association with a trade organisation, or owned by the trade association and managed by Reed.
Highlights of his time there include driving a significant expansion of SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Tradeshow) which, like Informex, is run in conjunction with a trade organisation. He expanded SHOT to attract exhibitors and visitors from 80 different countries. On five occasions under his leadership, this show was bestowed the award by Tradeshow Week Publication as one of the 50 fastest growing trade shows in the US. Other key shows he has run include the New York Restaurant Show.
A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Jim has a background in sales, marketing and business development. He will report to John Stuttard, Senior Vice President of UBM Live, who commented, “We are delighted to welcome Jim to the team and I am confident that he will be extremely successful with the Informex brand. Jim is a very experienced senior manager, with a proven track record of directing trade events and businesses. He also has a wealth of experience working with Trade Associations.

The flagship Informex show returns to New Orleans for the 28th installment of the event. Held from February 14-17th 2012 at the Morial Convention Center, Informex is focused on products, services and solutions within the full range of sectors in the chemicals and pharmaceutical industries. 4,000 fine and specialty chemicals professionals and 500 are anticipated at the all encompassing, 4 day event.
