Best Western GB announce 2012 board of directors
Best Western GB have announced their newly elected Board of Directors, effective from 7th March, following a vote at the groups annual members conference in London.The Board of Directors is made up of eight independent hoteliers from Great Britain who are owners or general managers of a hotel within the Best Western group.
Their appointment will now see them represent the groups 278 hotels in determining the strategic direction of Interchange and Consort Limited, the parent company of Best Western Hotels GB and Beacon Purchasing.
The Best Western 2012 board members are:
• Rhys Roberts, Chairman, Interchange and Consort Hotels Limited and Director, Best Western Tiverton Hotel, Tiverton.
• Angela Burns, Deputy Chairman, Interchange and Consort Hotels Limited and Chief Executive, Best Western Premier Moor Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, The George Hotel, Lichfield and Best Western The Gables Hotel, Falfield
• Russell Imrie, President, Interchange and Consort Hotels Limited and Managing Director of Best Western Plus Bruntsfield Hotel, Edinburgh and Best Western Plus Keavil House Hotel, Dunfermline.
• Jeremy Pick, Owner, Best Western Premier Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth
• Tim Rumney, Managing Director, Best Western Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, Kendal and Best Western Pinewood on Wilmslow, Manchester.
• Howard Darking, Managing Director, Best Western Knights Hill Hotel, Kings Lynn, Best Western Orton Hall Hotel, Peterborough and Best Western Le Strange Arms, Hunstanton.
• John Millican, Managing Partner, Best Western Lee Wood, Buxton.
• Wasim Younis, General Manager, Best Western The Boltons, London.
The board has been strengthened by the addition of John Millican returning after 11 years and Wasim Younis joining for the first time.
Rhys Roberts continues as Chairman and Angela takes on the role of Deputy Chairman. Russell Imrie continues in his role of President with responsibilities for the international arena and Nick Swinscoe remains as Company Secretary.
Richard Lewis, CEO of Interchange and Consort, who has been in the role six months, will continue to report into the Board of Directors and run the company from its central office in York.
