Michelle Chenery reports on a stay at the Citadines Prestige Holborn-Covent Garden
Located immediately opposite Holborn station, the Citadines Prestige Holborn Covent Garden provides easy access to the City and the West End. Oxford Street is only a short walk away. The locality offers a wide choice of traditional pubs and international restaurants and is very convenient for visitor attractions such as the British Museum, London Transport Museum and the Royal Opera House.Over six floors, the Apart'hotel offers a total of 192 rooms in various configurations, from studios for two people to apartments that can cater for up to four.
Recently renovated, all of the rooms have a fresh new contemporary feel. They vary in size from 25sqm up to the 38sqm Premier and Club studios. All are air-conditioned and are en suite (some with a separate toilet) and provide a flat screen TV, in-room safe, tea- and coffee-making facilities, high speed internet access either wired or Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen area with a stove, microwave/grill, fridge and, in the one-bedroom apartments, a dishwasher. Hi-fi systems and dvd players are available on request. A small number of these rooms are specially equipped for people with reduced mobility.
In the Club Studios, the extras include an iPod docking station, bathrobes, additional kitchen and bathroom amenities.

The Duty Manager told me that one of the guests is virtually a permanent resident at the property, his family visiting him at weekends.
The Citadines Prestige Holborn-Covent Garden has a total of five meeting rooms. The smaller rooms are for up to 15 delegates boardroom style, but the three larger spaces can be opened into one single space to cater for up to 120 delegates theatre style. All the meeting rooms come equipped with the latest AV equipment and have tea, coffee and biscuits to hand.
A Continental breakfast is served in the Apart'hotel, with a range of pastries, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, rolls, cheese, and cold meats. My favourite memory of that morning is a waffle maker accompanied by an array of sauces to drizzle over the top of the freshly made waffle.
Alongside the lounge area on the ground floor, there are two computers for the use of guests, allowing them to print out hard copies of documents.
