Lots of venues make dubious claims to be ‘located very centrally’, but there is no doubt that this is a genuine claim by Emma Boynton on behalf of imago.
Emma is Head of Sales and Marketing for imago, which is the umbrella name for the wide range of facilities offered at the University of Loughborough.

’Cruises are still greatly under-rated and under-utilised by European event organisers’.
That is the opinion of someone who has worked in this sector for a long time. Maarten Tromp is on his second go-round as Director of Corporate & Incentive Sales for the cruise company Silversea.

Tamara, an IHG Director of Marketing, talks to ITCM about supporting 65 Crowne Plazas and Holiday Inns

Tamara Strauss has 622 meeting rooms to offer. Not in a single location, but distributed amongst 65 hotels. They are all Crowne Plazas or Holiday Inns in the UK and Ireland and she is their Director of Marketing.
It is a complex responsibility, as, although they are all within the IHG Group (InterContinental Hotels), they have different owners. They also vary in size. The Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum, with 906 rooms, is currently the world’s largest Holiday Inn, even including those in the USA. That hotel alone has 11 meeting rooms offering 9,000sqft of flexible space.

Philippe de Meyer, the General Manager, reviews its highlights for Sydney Paulden

Ask Philippe De Meyer in which countries he has worked and the answer that comes back lists a varied series of desirable destinations. They range over the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, several locations in Kenya, Ankara in Turkey and Limassol in Cyprus. But his present position, General Manager of Kempinski Dukes Palace Hotel in Bruges, has brought him back to within a few miles of his starting point, He hails from the neighbouring town of Ghent.

Large conferences can Meet and Eat at the ‘future proofed’ Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa

JP Kavanagh, General Manager, tells ITCM of the benefits of a multi-million-pound investment

Sheraton are in the process of spending $6bn globally on upgrading their properties. One UK hotel to benefit greatly from that investment is the 5-star Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh. An almost total renovation has been carried out, starting in 2010 and completed in March 2012.
General Manager during the whole of that period has been J P Kavanagh, a Dubliner always known as ‘JP’ rather than ‘John Paul’.
