Bordering the Atlantic, in Western France, directly accessible by plane and high speed train, two hours from Paris and from most major European cities, Jules Verne's birthplace offers top-quality hotel infrastructure, with almost 9,000 hotel rooms. As both a creative and sustainable destination, Nantes is hailed as "the loopiest city in France" by the Sunday Times.
Creativity, our hallmark
The world-famous Great Elephant and the Machines de l'Ile (Thea Award 2014 for outstanding achievement) are a reflection of Nantes' distinctive creativity.
The success of the Voyage à Nantes and its urban arts and cultural trail showcases Nantes as a thriving, amazing city. From a ride on the giant elephant to gala dinners in the former shipyards, the Convention Bureau and local MICE leaders work together to create weird and wonderful experiences that participants will remember for years to come.
Nantes, sustainable destination par excellence
Green Capital of Europe 2013, Nantes makes sustainable development and CSR a key aspect of its MICE offering and is the leading city in Europe when it comes to eco-certified hotel capacity. Sustainability is supported by all the venues. La Cité Nantes Events Center is the only convention centre in France certified Gold level under AIPC Quality Standards and Exponantes Park is the first exhibition centre in Europe to obtain ISO 14001 certification.
Since 2010, all the destination partners have committed to upholding the Event Hosting Charter, to facilitate and enhance the experience of event planners and participants.
