“ICCA Meeting Technology Tool” launched at IMEX in collaboration with Corbin Ball and Simpleview. The Meeting Technology Tool is a free, online searchable directory, created to help association planners find the right partners for mobile technology (like event apps), virtual meetings and software solutions.
The directory lists the main technology providers in the meetings industry, which can give general advice when selecting technology solutions and products. The tool enables users to search by the type of technology solutions (Mobile Technology, Virtual Meetings-Shows or Meetings Software Solutions), region and keywords
The listing is the result of years of research by “meetings industry technology guru” Corbin Ball. ICCA has transferred these resources into a searchable online database.
Corbin Ball: “I am happy to have participated in the creation of the ICCA Meeting Technology Tool. I believe it will be a very valuable resource for ICCA Members and for event professionals in general. This free, online searchable database will help users find the best technology solutions from the myriad of options available.”
Rich Reasons of Simpleview, who supplied the platform for the Technology Tool: “We recognised the fact that meeting planners need better tools to plan and manage their meetings and events. That’s why we wanted to collaborate and contribute to this joint ICCA member-effort. Now with the deployment of The ICCA Meeting Technology Tool, meeting planners have access to a free and comprehensive resource to research and deliver the professional services their clients, delegates and stakeholders demand.”
Apart from the online directory, the Technology Tool also provides a checklist to use when selecting technology solutions, products or partners.
Collaborating with associations to shape the future and value of international association meetings
The Vision in ICCA’s new Strategic Plan, launched at the 2015 ICCA Congress in Buenos Aires, is to shape the future and value of international association meetings. This requires ICCA and ICCA’s supplier members to understand each association’s business and societal objectives, and to focus on partnering to achieve better meeting outcomes. By doing so, ICCA aims to contribute to the forces of global progress generated by association meetings, working together with the association community.
ICCA offers free, impartial advice on meeting planning to associations. Next to the new Meeting Technology Tool, ICCA’s Association Portal provides a platform where international association executives can confidentially find contact details of peers who organise similar meetings, request advice from ICCA (on their bid manual, for example), and access a library of resources to help organise better international events.
ICCA also invites associations to join the new Association Meetings Programme in Stavanger, Norway and this year’s ICCA Congress in Kuching, Malaysia. These ICCA events bring together the main suppliers to the international meetings industry (ICCA members) and international association executives to learn from each other and from a top faculty of experts about key aspects of bidding and decision-making, organising, promoting, and designing international association meetings.
