The Grand Mauritian's new beach

The Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection resort and Spa has announced that the unveiling of their recently professionally styled beach is imminent. The shoreline, adjacent to Turtle Bay, has seen a variety of additional improvements both in access and landscaping. The Grand Mauritian invited a beach stylist agency to ply their craft on the hotel beach frontage. Four weeks later the beach front is now almost complete.

General Manager of the Grand Mauritian, Mr. Jan Bungaard, explains,’ "Despite our beach being one of the most beautiful in the islands, we also recognized that extending the access to the sea for our guests was extremely important. After all the more who can simply walk out of their villas straight into the sea, the better!. However there were many issues to consider before undertaking the work, no less important being the care taken to protect both the natural beauty of our coastline as well as any potential environmental impact. That is why we are both delighted and excited at our re-styled beach. It is both in harmony with our environment but also picture perfect for our guests.’

The shoreline of the Grand Mauritian is now a quarter of a mile of beach and secluded bathing areas. Two natural basalt-rock pools in the sea provide safe areas for bathing whilst the rest of the shore is a mixture of sandy beach and shady retreats under a mixture of palm and casuarina trees.
