The Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham has completed a £2 million refurbishment programme, to restore its 115 bedrooms and public areas back to their original Victorian splendour. The investment, which has been jointly funded by the hotel’s owner Hortons' Estate and operator Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, has also seen the addition of three new executive bedrooms created on the fifth floor and the upgrades of the coffee lounge, reception and Berlioz bar.
Tony Green, Chief Executive of Hortons, added; “We have a long standing track record of constant investment in our portfolio to meet the demands of our occupiers. We are also committed to working with our tenants and are delighted to have worked closely with Macdonald Hotels on this project.”
Formerly known as the Midland Hotel, the Macdonald Burlington Hotel property was originally purchased in 1871 by Isaac Horton and was the first property in what was to become the Hortons' Estate portfolio. It has been operated by Macdonald Hotels since 2004.
