New Head of Hospitality at Newbury Racecourse

Newbury Racecourse has Samantha Pedder as Head of Hospitality for its in-house catering. Samantha was previously Head of Food Development for Admiral Taverns. Newbury Racecourse was the first major Racecourse in the UK to move away from contracted caterers.  The in-house operation launched in 2007 and Samantha’s appointment is the latest in a new drive to capitalise on this competitive advantage.

Samantha will be responsible for all of Newbury Racecourse’s onsite catering facilities, including corporate conferences and public events catering for up to 27,000 people, and also on race days. She will report directly to the Joint Managing Director for Racecourse and Events, Stephen Higgins. Samantha says ‘We will be creating flavourful, fashionable, flexible and fun feasts to recharge the batteries of guests and delegates. Light snacks and lunches, chef’s tables and smart dining selections will showcase our local and carefully sourced ingredients using the best of British alongside tastes and flavours from around the world.  Sustenance at a conference at Newbury Racecourse will be a contemporary, highly competitive and memorable experience.’
