SECC’s Summer Eventia prepares delegates for Olympics

This year’s Summer Eventia, being held from 4 to 6 July at Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) is of special significance in the light of the forthcoming 2012 Olympics and the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It is attracting over 250 event booking agents.

The MICE industry is worth £827m to Scotland, accounting for 20% of total tourism spend.
One of the speakers will be Claire Smith, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Vancouver Convention Centre, presenting ‘The View from Vancouver: What London 2012 and Glasgow 2014 can learn from the Vancouver experience’. Vancouver has recently hosted the Winter Olympics.
Other sessions will cover global trends, financial modelling, human resources, corporate social responsibility, technology, sales techniques, industry standards and health and safety.
