Marked trend towards practical, business-like designs, making every penny countThe stands that won awards at this year’s Confex at Earls Court in February showed that the exhibitors had been determined to make every penny count. Designs were practical, simplified and intended to attract visitors but also to provide convenient, comfortable facilities for serious business discussions.

Turkey created an excellent bright and welcoming effect with lots of white, including the furniture. Jumeirah made the most of a small space with a clever semi-roof that was open but created a sense of privacy as required.
The Czech Tourist Authority once again had a modest but effective and busy shell stand, nicely linking an emphasis on South Moravia with plentiful wine from that region.
Denmark had a unique simple space with no superstructure but with colourful circular seating. Jonathan Cohen, Denmark’s London Office Marketing Manager - Business Events, explained that by reducing the construction cost, there was more budget for a bigger floor area.
