Nine Swiss convention centres to work together

Nine Swiss Convention Centres have agreed to co-operate more closely to increase Switzerland's global share of large events. The aim is to give Switzerland a higher profile internationally for large events. Congress and event organisers will also find it easier to gain information on all the facilities in order to select the most suitable venue for their project.
The partners will exchange information to help them to be more focused in their marketing. By having all nine offered to a prospective client, Switzerland will have a better chance of winning the contracts.
Swiss Convention Centre will not have a separate central sales, but will continue to work through SCIB - the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau, with the local destinations and through the sales offices of the individual venues. Mainly organisers of events with more than 500 delegates will be targeted. .
The partners in this new initiative are: Beaulieu Lausanne, Casino Kursaal Interlaken, Montreux Music & Convention Centre, CICG Geneva, Congress Center Basel, Davos Congress, KKL Luzern, Kongresshaus Zürich and Palazzo dei congressi Lugano. Together they offer a total of 18,000 seats and 60,000 sqm of event space. They currently generate a turnover of 100m Swiss Francs a year.
