NatWest puts teamwork on the menu!

A group of 14 NatWest bankers from branches throughout the North West of England, including Area Directors and Relationship Managers, enjoyed a competition at LucyCooks cookery school. It had nothing to do with cooking the books, but everything to do with building relationships between colleagues from different offices. 'I was very impressed with the results', says David Holdsworth, Senior Business Manager.
After a tasting session to break the ice, the delegates were formed into two teams by the Area Manager. From an expanding choice of cookery courses, ranging from Glorious Game to Puddings Galore, the NatWest teams elected to battle it out with 'Thrilling Three Courses'. Each team was then allocated a LucyCooks chef and they began their task of preparing rillettes of hot smoked salmon to start, followed by roast rack of lamb with a herb and mustard crust and pommes Savoyard. The dessert was chocolate torte. Delegates had to take special care when preparing all these dishes, as the teams had to eat their own creations for their lunch.
The final comment was: 'The day allowed us to meet our objectives of improving internal communications and integrating a new member of staff. It was an enlightening day and everyone had an amazing time, but what was important was the strength of relationships built.'
Lucy Nicholson, of LucyCooks, says 'We created our Loosen Your Tie corporate programme to entertain and to educate. It requires focused communication, co-operation and above all trust. There are various options available but ultimately the day can be tailored to suit the needs of the group. The emphasis is on fun, enjoyment and good food.'
