Hyatt's second Toronto hotel opens in January

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts will operate and manage the 394-room Hyatt Regency Toronto in downtown Toronto on behalf of King Street Enterprises. The hotel, located at 370 King Street West, will open in January 2009 in the centre of the city's entertainment district, close to the bustling nightlife scene, restaurants, clubs and galleries. The hotel is within walking distance of major attractions such as the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre, Princess of Wales Theatre, Royal Alexandra Theatre, Roy Thomson Hall, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts and the St. Lawrence Market. Currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation that includes all new guestrooms, lobby and meeting space, Hyatt Regency Toronto will become the second Hyatt property in the city alongside Park Hyatt Toronto.
Hyatt's Chief Operating Officer, Chuck Floyd, says that Toronto has proved very lucrative in the past. The complete renovation of all guestrooms and suites includes signature Hyatt Grand Beds in every room, state-of-the-art 42-inch LG flat screen televisions, modern furniture and fixtures, iHome clock radios, multi-media av connection access ports and fully updated bathrooms. The lobby will be reconfigured to offer guest check-in kiosks and a unique reflecting water-fire feature. The hotel offers more than 30,000 sqft of newly renovated meeting space. A brand new StayFit@Hyatt gym and a large 4700 sqft Regency Club will be added to the hotel. The outdoor rooftop pool area will be given new furnishings to provide a revised, more modern look.
