The Edinburgh Convention Bureau increases tourism

The Edinburgh Convention Bureau (ECB) helped attract business tourism worth £72.8m to the economy of Scotland's capital city last year.
Edinburgh which is Scotland's top conference and convention destination hosted 162 events which were attended by more than 65,000 high-spending delegates.
The latest figures released by the ECB represent a 6.2% increase in economic value over the previous year s results of £68.5m.
Worth almost £1.2m in total, and attracting up to 1640 delegates, two of the largest events are health related: the Edinburgh International Trauma Symposium and the Society for Reproduction & Fertility conference.
Sue Stuart, Chief Executive of ECB, commented: 'These results reflect a superb effort by everyone involved in marketing Edinburgh as a world class conference destination. We set ourselves a target of achieving an economic value of £71.7m which we exceeded by more than one million pounds.'
