Jumeirah spreads to Bali and the Maldives
Jumeirah has announced that it has signed five new hotels in the past two weeks, increasing Jumeirah's property development list to 19. It has been appointed to manage Jumeirah Bali resort (Indonesia), Jumeirah Maldives Resort in the South Malé Atoll, Jumeirah Al Salam Resort in Bahrain, Jumeirah Al Salam Yiti Resort in Oman and Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel in Kuwait. They are all scheduled to open over the next three years. This is in addition to recent announcements for hotels in Guangzhou, Glasgow and the US Virgin Islands and 11 existing properties. Jumeirah's executive chairman Gerald Lawless says that he believes that with the help of Jumeirah's parent company, Dubai Holding, the target of Jumeirah globalisation by 2012 is entirely realistic as they have 60 properties either in operation or under development.
