Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has opened its second hotel in Istanbul. It has a prime position on the European side of the Bosphorus, looking across to Asia. It was a 19th century Ottoman palace and has been restored with a contemporary style.
The original building and two new wings have a total of 166 rooms. There are extensive outdoor facilities, boasting a heated pool and whirlpool, bar pavilions and a Wedding Garden, located along a 190m (623 ft) waterfront terrace, framed by the Bosphorus and its ever-changing landscape. Beneath the terrace is a major new sky-lit 2,100 sqm (22,605 sqft) spa, featuring three hammams . The meeting facilities include two ballrooms, which can accommodate receptions for up to 1,000 people.
This new hotel is in contrast to the first Four Seasons property, the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet, which is a converted neo-classic prison in the heart of the city's Old Town.
