Hotel and conference centre group Principal Hayley is making an investment of £8.1m in the refurbishment of Beaumont House, Old Windsor, part of the Beaumont Estate. This consists of three facilities: Beaumont House, White House and its chapel; and The Village.
Ian Peck, General Manager of the Beaumont Estate, says: 'Its creation brings a whole range of conference and leisure facilities under one banner, with two offerings for the conference organiser; the Beaumont House conference venue and a hotel with meeting rooms.'
The project started earlier this year to redevelop the White House into a hotel. During the renovation a 19thC chapel, which was originally part of the St Stanislaus College, was uncovered. It was previously boarded up and Principal Hayley has embarked on a plan to restore the chapel and re-launch it as a private dining and banqueting room. The total refurbishment and restoration programme is due to be completed shortly.
The White House, a wing of the estate, will include ten suites, each costing nearly £100,000 to create and furnish with TVs, iPod docking stations, roll-top baths and other amenities. A further 16 bedrooms are being developed in the White House itself and 58 bedrooms have been added in the wing adjacent to it, creating a brand new 74-bedroom hotel.
A fine dining restaurant with a wine cellar will serve English and International cuisine. A private dining area will be available for those looking to host an exclusive party.
Beaumont House, the original conference venue, currently has 330 bedrooms, 75 meeting rooms, a restaurant, and a lounge and bar. It has 40 acres of grounds, which will undergo a makeover.
The newly named Village will feature four meeting and training spaces able to accommodate up to 220 delegates.
