Raffles builds a luxury hotel and golf resort in Bali
Raffles Hotels & Resorts together with PT Asia Pasifik Properti, a subsidiary of Rekso Group, has held a Project Commencement Ceremony at the site of Raffles Jimbaran, Bali. This new hotel, only 15 minutes from the island's international airport, is scheduled to open in 2010. It will be located along the scenic Jimbaran coast of Bali and will feature 84 luxurious villas and 21 Raffles Residences for private ownership. Occupying an impressive 11 hectares (27.5 acres), the property will be designed to resemble a Water Palace - with inspiration drawn from classical Javanese-Hindu architecture and style - characterised by open spaces, water features and walled courtyards on rising terraces. The centrepiece of the Water Palace will form the resort's lobby.
Raffles Jimbaran will have its own beach and an 18-hole golf course. Each villa at Raffles Jimbaran will feature a private plunge pool and sun deck, and all are located on terraces with panoramic views of the ocean or golf course.
There are to be five food and beverage outlets. The resort will also feature an expansive 2,000 sqm RafflesAmrita Spa, a signature component of Raffles around the world.
Diana Ee-Tan, Managing Director of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, comments 'Bali continues to be a much-desired destination and we are thrilled that this stunning resort will bear the Raffles name.'
