The SS Rotterdam has returned home to Rotterdam. The former flagship of the Holland America Line (HAL) is the largest passenger ship ever built in the Netherlands. After numerous wanderings across the oceans she has arrived at her permanent berth at the quay in Kop van Katendrecht, Rotterdam.
The ship's interior has been restored to its original splendour and can now be used for events such as meetings, conferences, receptions, banquets, private parties and weddings. The SS Rotterdam includes 285 cabins and modern facilities such as televisions and internet access. One of the cabin suites was once slept in by Queen Beatrix.
The SS Rotterdam also has private rooms and halls. There are different sizes of rooms suitable for events. These include the Skyroom and the dining rooms of yesteryear that have been fitted out as meeting and banqueting halls, as well as the Ritz Carlton Lounge, Tropic Bar and Ambassador Lounge. The steamship Rotterdam also has an intimate theatre with 600 seats.
