Air Mauritius will launch its new business and economy class features on July 1 2008 across all its UK routes. A new business class seat includes lie-flat cocoon seats with a 60-inch seat pitch and a recline capacity of 172 degrees. Each aircraft leaving from the UK will have 34 new business seats in a 2-2-2 configuration in the front cabin. Audio & Video on Demand (AVOD) is also being launched on the same flights but is available to both business and economy classes. This allows all passengers to view 50 digital-quality, multi-language videos as well as CDs.
The Air Mauritius economy cabins will also feature new generation seats which gives access to extra personal space. There will be an improved food and beverage service.
The new two-class configuration will have a different layout and different décor. This has been inspired by the flora and fauna of the island.
