Dusit Thani Dubai announces guest room refurbishment

This spring Dusit Thani Dubai will begin the refurbishment of its guest rooms as part of a major project which will see the hotel adding defined luxury and convenience to their guests.
During the next few months, the hotel’s 174 guest rooms will see a total renovation, due to be completed by the end of September 2012. The refurbishment marks the first time in the hotel’s 11 years that such an extensive project has been carried out in Dusit International’s Middle East flagship hotel.

“This is an exciting time for us as a hotel. The property has just celebrated its 11th anniversary and we’ve seen a lot of change in the city landscape around us. While we have done light refurbishments throughout the hotel over the years, the hotel is now in a position in which an extensive refurbishment will firmly place us in a more competitive position,” the hotel’s general manager, James Wilson, noted.

The refurbishment will see the hotel rooms taking on a modern, light and crisp appearance, creating a welcoming and relaxed ambiance from the moment you walk through the door. The design will also incorporate the hotel’s rich Thai cultural heritage through intricate art and design features throughout.

“Being a Thai hotel brand, it is important that while we embrace our location and incorporate international design, we remain true to our company DNA. With the Dusit brand expanding internationally we have chosen a design which will put our rooms more in line with international standards while ensuring that there are still strong elements of Thai design throughout the rooms.”

Renovations will not just focus on the aesthetics of the room, modern technology will be integrated into all guest rooms, allowing for convenient connectivity. Earlier this year the hotel announced complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel, allowing guests added convenience and comfort. Phase two of the project, focusing on the refurbishment of the hotel’s 147 one and two bedroom residences, is planned to start during summer 2013.
