Beau-Rivage Palace unveils new BaR celebrating the return of the sophisticated cocktail

This week sees the official unveiling of Beau-Rivage Palace’s new BaR, poised to set a benchmark in Swiss bar culture.  Paying homage to the hotel’s heritage, style traditions and famous guests – whilst at the same time keeping up with current trends – the BaR offers a luxurious choice of finely crafted, classic cocktails.

Designed and conceived in partnership with Wilsdon Design Associates and gorgeousgroup (responsible for The American Bar at The Savoy and The Balcon at Sofitel St James), the vintage-inspired bar blends old with new for a truly decadent experience.  Both dramatic and subtle, the traditional wood panelling, rare under lit onyx bar top and muted earth grey tones define the design’s aesthetics and its layering of the classic and contemporary elements.  The martini trolley – with ebony lacquer, polished marble and bronze trim – allows the theatre of preparation to be brought directly to guest’s tables.

Taking ownership of the classic cocktails, the BaR’s menu features homemade barrel-aged seasonal vermouths, whilst also offering a tantalising range of signature cocktails, homemade sorbet serves and non-alcoholic choices.  For added exclusivity, guests can purchase a bottle of their favourite spirit, to be stored in a crystal decanter at the BaR, to be used for preparation of their favourite cocktails when they visit.

In honour of one of the hotel’s regular patrons, Charlie Chaplin, the City Light is made with local artisanal apricot eau-de-vie and sloe gin; served in a tall martini-style glass, garnished with an edible flower and finished with a sprits of apricot eau-de-vie from an antique perfume atomiser.  In true Beau-Rivage Palace style, each cocktail has the same attention to detail in presentation and experience.

Ever-evolving, Beau-Rivage Palace’s new BaR evokes a bygone era with a modern twist; whether hotel guest or local resident, business meeting or romantic evening, for a celebration or simply for the experience, the BaR is the hottest new address in town.
