Paradores of Spain to launch Parador de Lorca in June 2012
Paradores of Spain will launch Parador de Lorca, located at historical Lorca castle, in June this year. Located in south-eastern Spain, the Parador is a newly constructed building built atop a vast archaeological site, with part of the Lorca castle walls connecting directly to the Parador. The hotel will have 65 double rooms, nine suites with sitting room and two double bedrooms with disabled access.Lorca castle was declared a site of cultural interest in the monument category on 3 June, 1931 and other highlights in the immediate area include a 15th-century synagogue, a Jewish building with a public ritual bath from the 15th century, the 13th-century Almohad wall, and remains of Muslim-caliphal structures from the 10th and 11th centuries.
