Bedford Lodge Hotel bedrooms given a touch of luxury
Guests at Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket are set to enjoy even more luxurious surroundings thanks to the renovation of many of the hotel’s bedrooms. An investment of £160,000 has been made to transform 49 bedrooms at the four-star hotel in Bury Road, with all soft furnishings replaced as well as complete redecoration throughout.
Bedford Lodge Chief Executive Noel Byrne said the works are part of a £4 million expansion and renovation project at the hotel. The programme also includes the refurbishment of the bar and restaurant as well as the creation of 22 new bedrooms.
“The refurbished rooms are of a much more contemporary style while remaining in touch with the building’s 17th century history,” he said. “Our guests will benefit from an increased sense of luxury with the furnishings having a higher quality specification than before. All have been designed by a top interior designer.”
He added: “All the beds and pillows at Bedford Lodge Hotel are made by Hypnos. This is a family-run company with more than 100 years’ experience and a Royal Warrant for excellence.”
The works to the bedrooms, taking place in tranches of ten at a time, have just been completed, with the 22 new bedrooms to be available to guests by July. Once construction is complete, at least 25 new jobs are set to be created, as a consequence.
A further 40 jobs will be introduced through the development of the Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, which is being built in the neighboring Rockfield House, situated adjacent to the hotel, on Bury Road.
Bedford Lodge Hotel is a leading wedding and conference venue and is the former Suffolk Hotel of the Year. Set in three acres of rose gardens, it also features The Edge Health and Fitness Club.
