The Peninsula New York turns pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

During the month of October, The Peninsula New York will be positively pink as it participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its “Peninsula in Pink” charitable program – a new groupwide campaign spearhead by The Peninsula Hotels in Asia and North America. The new program is designed to raise both awareness and funds from October 1 – 31, 2011 to support The American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” initiative.

In addition to the below initiatives, the hotel’s front entrance will feature special pink lighting, commemorative ribbons around the traditional Chinese Guardian Lions that flank the hotel’s entrance and a pink floral theme throughout the hotel.

Peninsula in Pink Afternoon Tea in Gotham Lounge
Gotham Lounge’s Peninsula in Pink Afternoon Tea will feature a special pink tea – Mighty Leaf’s Organic Berry Wellness – offered for its mineral-rich ingredients which support the immune system. The Afternoon Tea will include a variety of savory and sweet options including pink-themed pastry items, some of which display the “pink ribbon” breast cancer awareness symbol.
Time: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, daily
Price: $50 per person (including a $5 donation)

The Peninsula Spa by ESPA Pink Treatments
The Peninsula Spa by ESPA supports Breast Cancer Awareness month with several ways to embrace wellness and philanthropy during the month of October.

Peninsula Pink Ceremony
This two-hour treatment combines a skin smoothing salt & oil body scrub and express cleansing facial to prepare the body for the application of ESPA’s Pink Mud Mask, which includes a deeply nourishing combination of mineral-rich red clay and apricot kernel oil. A relaxing whole body massage and scalp massage complete the experience.
Price: $390 (includes $20 donation) not including tax or gratuity

Pink Power Package
When guests reserve a 60-minute Holistic Massage, they have the option to also book a 60-minute Personal Training session (or private yoga session) at the reduced price of $75 (normally $120). The “Pink Power” package offers a great way for spa-goers to stay mindful of their health during the month of October.
Price: $270 (includes a $20 donation) not including tax or gratuity

Pink Manicure at Mélange Salon
Mélange Salon, located within The Peninsula Spa by ESPA, is offering a special “Pink Manicure” that includes a complimentary bottle of ESSIE’s “Raise Awareness” pink nail polish (valued at $8).
Price: $35 ($5 donation) not including tax or gratuity
The “Pink” treatments are available October 1 - 31, 2011.

Salon de Ning’s Passionate Pink Champagne Cocktail
The bartenders at Salon de Ning rooftop bar and terrace have created a pink-hued “Passionate Pink” cocktail comprised of Champagne, Fragoli Strawberry Liquor and garnished with fresh strawberry. The charitable cocktail is price at $22 and includes a $2 donation.
Salon de Ning is open every evening from 4:00 pm until 1:00 am.

An exclusive “Peninsula in Pink” pink ribbon pin has been designed and will be worn by all hotel employees and will also be available for purchase for $5 with proceeds donated to The American Cancer Society’s annual “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” fundraiser. The Peninsula’s front office team will also sport pink ties for the men and scarves for the women to show their unified support for the cause. For more than 10 years, The Peninsula New York’s employees have participated in The American Cancer Society’s annual “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk, and will again participate this year to raise funds.

The Peninsula New York is located on Fifth Avenue and 55th Street, in the heart of New York City's most prestigious shopping, cultural, and business neighborhood, in Mid-town Manhattan. A 23-storey, 1905 landmark building, The Peninsula New York features 185 spacious and luxurious guest rooms and 54 suites, decorated in a classic, contemporary style with art nouveau accents.
