Dubrovnik and Split offer great value, singly or together
ITCM and some readers were invited to see for themselves the enticing offers of Croatia’s great cities on the Adriatic. Roger St Pierre reportsCroatia has one of Europe’s longest and most spec-tacular coastlines, dotted with resorts large and small. The best known are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Split and Dubrovnik, each of which can be very attractive in these straitened times.
Easy to access, with direct flights from the UK, both destinations offer great value, thanks to being outside the ever more expensive Eurozone.

Easily-accessible, priced-in-sterling, multi-venue, hospitable, non-EU, low-cost, unpolluted Isle of Man
ITCM and a group of UK buyers wonder why on earth they hadn’t thought of the Isle of Man before this Fam Trip. Sydney Paulden reportsThe dining room looked out through tall windows onto the promenade. The tide was out and the seagulls were crying above the exposed sandbanks. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling, the walls displayed a generous number of oil paintings, each illuminated with its own light. The carpet was tartan and there were Manx kippers on the menu. Each guest was individually served. There was no buffet.

So Hvar, so good
A group of ITCM readers was invited to sample the delights of the Adriatic island of Hvar by Suncani Hvar Hotels. Sydney Paulden reportsThe ITCM Fam Trip group spent three days and two nights on the island of Hvar. During that time we were able to see the main international-standard hotels and visit most parts of the island’s mountainous hinterland. On the return flight we all agreed that we had not seen a single place, however tiny, during our whole time there that was not truly picturesque. There was literally no blot on the landscape.

Abu Dhabi offers more every day
The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) invited ITCM to take a group of MICE buyers on a whirlwind trip to discover what the destination has to offer. ITCM’s Natasha Blair reportsAbu Dhabi is both the name of one of the United Arab Emirates and the name of its main city. Abu Dhabi is by far the largest of the seven emirates and, to the surprise of many people, it is the richest. Even Dubai is a poor relation!
The city of Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and it is more and more making an impact not only on the region of the Gulf but also globally.

Sun City - out of this world
Indoors or outdoors, luxury or back to nature, Sun City offers a remarkable experience, as Roger St. Pierre reveals after accompanying an ITCM fam trip to Sun City hosted by Sun International Hotels and the DMC, Into AfricaSouth Africa’s long-standing claim to offer “the whole world in one country” is no idle boast, for this is a land of infinite variety where the conference and incentive organiser’s biggest problem is one of choice.
Huge, purpose-built resorts, even of the more luxurious kind, have a tendency to be impersonal and plastic. Not so at South Africa’s Sun City showcase venue, justly billed ‘Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure’, which is located an easy couple of hours’ and 167 km drive from Johannesburg’s fast expanding O R Tambo International Airport.
