A unique destination in the Caribbean, set to exclusively welcome MSC Cruises guests 
as of November 2018

MSC Cruises, the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and brand market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, today broke ground on Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Located south of Bimini in The Bahamas, the island is set to become a natural paradise exclusive to MSC Cruises guests as of November 2018. The Right Honourable Perry Gladstone Christie, Prime Minister of The Bahamas joined Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, at the official Groundbreaking Ceremony along with other Bahamian ministers and government officials. This milestone marks the official commencement of the works that will turn this former industrial sand extraction site back into its original pristine state.

Silversea ’s World Cruise 2017 sets milestone with first-ever San Francisco departure

Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises' Silver Whisper embarked on her 116-day World Cruise 2017 on Friday 6 January from the Port of San Francisco, marking the first time in the company's history that a World Cruise has been launched from the city renowned for its picturesque harbour and iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Additionally, 6 January marked the first-ever visit of Silver Whisper to the city, an occasion celebrated by a plaque exchange between port officials and Mark Conroy, Silversea's managing director for the Americas, and Silver Whisper's staff captain, Zbigniew Jaszewski.

Carnival launches first of three new cruise ships in 2017

Carnival Corporation & plc recently launched the Seabourn Encore, the first of three new ships that will enter service in 2017 across three of its 10 global cruise brands. Carnival Corporation will also launch Majestic Princess from Princess Cruises in April, which will be the world’s first cruise ship built specifically for the Chinese market, and its Germany-based AIDA Cruises brand in July will launch AIDAperla, one of the world’s most environmentally friendly and technologically advanced ships.

Star Wars Day at Sea returns to Disney Cruise Line in 2018

In 2018, the epic day at sea returns to Disney Cruise Line with 15 special Disney Fantasy sailings to the Caribbean from January through April. Star Wars Day at Sea transports guests to a galaxy far, far away to celebrate the legendary adventures and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga with Jedi, Wookiees, droids, Stormtroopers and others during the special day-long celebration.
