International Confex pledges enhanced programme for Association Day 2013Following the success of Association Day 2012, International Confex has pledged to provide an even greater offering for Association Day 2013.
James Samuel, Event Manager at International Confex, said: “International Confex is dedicated to the association market which brings core business to destinations and venues across the globe. The 2012 Association Day programme saw more than 100 association representatives in attendance; however for 2013 we have pledged to provide a further enhanced programme targeting 150 of the top UK and international associations.”
“International Confex is committed to providing high-quality educational content to all sectors of the meetings industry. The Association Day programme demonstrates just one element of this, providing the opportunity to enrich the professional lives of association planners. At the same time our exhibitors are presented with a fantastic opportunity to engage with this hugely important sector, demonstrating why International Confex will continue to be seen as the leading meeting place for both the UK’s in-bound and outbound meetings industry.”
Maris Kuklis, Senior Marketing Executive at Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong, a division of Hong Kong Tourism Board London, sponsors of Association Day 2012, said: “International Confex is a great opportunity to meet UK-based buyers looking to organise international events. We met a number of associations looking for conference facilities in Hong Kong over the next few years and have made lots of new contacts.”
Combining exclusive networking opportunities, practical workshops and an inspirational speaker line-up, the 2012 Association Day programme saw association representatives from a number of varied organisations including the Institute of Travel & Meetings, Royal Society of Medicine, The Law Society, Energy Institute, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Steven Yeats, Chief Executive Officer of the British Cardiovascular Society, stated: “Association Day at International Confex is an essential networking opportunity for the sector. The meet the expert sessions consist of a small intimate discussion group, where a great deal of information is shared between similar bodies.
“As an association for Cardiovascular Healthcare Professionals, is was important for me to understand how to increase our sponsorship opportunities in the current economic downturn.” Liz Appleyard, Events and Marketing Manager at the International Cancer Imaging Society, adds: “I was attracted to Association Day at International Confex because of the meet the expert workshops and the chance to find out if other people in the association sector shared the same challenges.
“The workshop with Erin Rigg covering sponsorship was really useful. I also found the exhibition better this year; I made quite a few contacts with suppliers that I will be following up on. I will definitely be attending next year.”
International Confex returns to ExCeL London 19-21 March 2013.
