Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 is celebrating after its director of sales and marketing was awarded a prestigious Acorn Award this week.
Run by Caterer & Hotelkeeper, the awards recognise future stars of the hospitality industry and are now in their twenty-seventh year. The Acorns acknowledge flair and reward good work, each year naming 30 people under 30 for making a significant contribution in their field.

University wins prestigious Swiss Cow Trophy for third year running
Students from Leeds Metropolitan University have been crowned the winners of the MPI UK and Ireland Chapter 2013 Young Achievers Award – the third time the university has taken the title.Three teams from Terbell, Leeds Metropolitan University and Greenwich University were asked to take on the role of the convention bureau in Bregenz (Austria) and St.Gallen (Switzerland) and prepare a bid for a large scale congress.

Dorchester Collection’s Le Meurice is delighted to announce its shortlisted candidates for the 2013/2014 Meurice Prize for contemporary art, now in its sixth year.
The ‘Meurice Prize for contemporary art’ highlights the hotel’s ongoing commitment to promoting and nurturing young artists, in order to support them on an ever-competitive international stage. The prize offers the winner a €20,000 endowment and embraces all types of artistic mediums; from painting and sculpture to photography and video, all of which are included amongst the selected shortlist.
