Delegate Welcome Award recognises Friendliest Person in Liverpool
Liverpool Convention Bureau has named an individual in Liverpool as the most welcoming person in the city. The Liverpool Delegate Welcome Award, part of the Liverpool Ambassador Awards, was won by Niall Fitzmaurice, Front Office Manager at Jurys Inn.
Voted as offering the friendliest welcome to delegates visiting the hotel for meetings and conferences taking place in the city, Niall was also recognised for being an excellent communicator, providing an informative service to delegates and most of all, being enthusiastic about everything the hotel and Liverpool has to offer.
As part of his award-winning welcome Niall works closely with Liverpool Convention Bureau to ensure he is aware of which conferences and events are taking place in the city, as well as managing the display of welcome materials and signage. Niall and his reception team are first on hand to help delegates with their itineraries including offering directions, organising city tours, recommending restaurants and booking additional meeting spaces.
The Liverpool Delegate Welcome Award was a new category in the awards, which are now in their tenth year, with nominations made by members of the public or industry colleagues.
Niall Fitzmaurice, Front Office Manager at Jurys Inn comments: “It is a great honour for me to have been selected as an Ambassador for Liverpool welcoming delegates into our city, and I look forward to building on this success in the future”.
Carol O’Reilly, Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager comments: “The Liverpool Ambassador Awards are important for the city and provide an opportunity to officially recognise all those who make an impact on Liverpool’s reputation for hospitality, meetings and events. They allow us to reward the unsung heroes and heroines who go above and beyond the call of duty to make Liverpool a truly welcoming city”.
Jerry Pribil, General Manager at Jurys Inn adds: “Niall is a tremendously dedicated member of our Jurys Team who takes great pride in his profession. He reads our guests extremely well and because of this gift he can anticipate their needs before they even ask. He is self-motivated and very enthusiastic about researching and implementing new trends in the hospitality industry. He is a true asset to our organisation and we are very proud of him”.
Awards at the ceremony, which took place at the Crowne Plaza on 28 March, were presented by actor and scriptwriter Neil Fitzmaurice and Great Britain’s most successful high jumper, Olympic bronze medalist Steve Smith.
