Well Met aims for top marks at national awards

Well Met Conferencing, the conference office for Leeds Metropolitan University, is waiting in anticipation for the M&IT Industry Awards on the 5 March 2012 where they have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Academic Venue’ category.

The Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards recognise and reward excellence, and are the result of voting by the readers, of M&IT - with votes audited and verified by the independent Audit Bureau of Circulations. The Awards are the oldest and most established in the meetings and incentive industry and it is a great honour for Well Met to be shortlisted against strong competition from Exeter University, Leicester Conference, Imago at Burleigh Court and The Conference Park at Warwick Conferences.

Kate Davis, Business Development Manager of Well Met Conferencing, said: “This is the first time we have entered the M&IT national awards so we’re very excited to be a finalist against some of the top academic venues in the UK, especially as our clients nominated us.

“Well Met Conferencing provides a wide portfolio of unique conference and events spaces as well as first-rate customer service and state-of-the-art facilities. We hope that this, combined with the fact that we are the only University in the UK to boast the Gold AIM accreditation by the Meetings Industry Association, helps us stand apart from the rest of the shortlist.”

The prestigious awards ceremony, which will be attended by more than 700 industry professionals at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, will be presented by BBC TV presenter Kate Silverton.

Well Met Conferencing will be exhibiting at The Conference & Hospitality Show on the 26 April 2012 at Leeds United Football Club as well as the Academic Venue Show on the 16 May 2012 at the Emirates Stadium, London.
