by Relais & Chateaux

Chef Ricardo Costa
Ricardo Costa, Executive Chef at the The Yeatman Hotel, was awarded the ‘Rising Chef’ trophy at the annual Relais & Châteaux Trophies Awards Gala in Tokyo yesterday. It’s been a week of culinary achievements for the luxury Portuguese hotel, as on Thursday, the Gastronomic Restaurant at The Yeatman became the first restaurant ever in Porto to be awarded two Michelin Stars.

The Relais & Châteaux Trophies recognise expertise and excellence in the art of hospitality and fine dining, with the Rising Chef trophy awarded to young chefs whose creativity, imagination and commitment earmark them as the future grand masters of the fine dining around the world. The luxury group recognised Chef Ricardo Costa’s ‘sensational cuisine, which ’adds a touch of modernity and creativity to traditional dishes, combined with the best national wines’.

Chef Ricardo Costa, who brought the first Michelin Star to Porto in 2011, said ‘The Relais & Châteaux trophy is a recognition that we are continuing to evolve in our culinary journey. The entire restaurant and hotel team work hard to provide the best experience for all who visit us. It is an honour to see this effort recognized at the highest level.’

Showcasing Portugal's vast range of fresh produce as well as its diversity of regional specialities, the Gastronomic Restaurant at The Yeatman strives to offer Porto’s most inspiring dining experience. With an extensive wine cellar housing one of the world’s most comprehensive selection of Portuguese wines, the Gastronomic Restaurant makes a special feature of food and wine pairing, further complimenting the culinary experience

A member of Relais & Châteaux since 2011, The Yeatman shares the luxury group’s vision of hospitality based on service excellence: the art of well being, proximity, care in detail.
