The Italian chapter of the European Hotel Managers Association (EHMA) has identified Alessandro Cabella, Managing Director of the Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, the ‘Best Hotel Manager of the Year 2016’. This prestigious prize was bestowed on November 20th in Sciacca (Sicily), at the Verdura Resort.

The jury – formed of Magda Antonioli (Bocconi University, Milan); Antonio Caneva (Job in Tourism); Gaetano Caserta (LUISS University of Rome); Michele D'Andrea (Institutional and Ceremonial Communication); Mario Mancini (Communication Agency); Massimo Nava (columnist for Corriere della Sera Paris) and the Notary Paride Marini - chose Alessandro Cabella for his mature expertise and for his complete mastery of professional management in structures of excellence. Under his strong managerial drive, the hotel has reached undisputed quality levels, thanks to his determination to work on every operational and strategic aspect in this business.

The development and career enhancement of the various employees’ and a highly targeted internal cohesion are just some of the features of his modus operandi. His strong international experience has proved especially important owing to the role that the Rome Cavalieri plays in the international hotel scene, and has provided the foundations for the success of his managerial positions and activities.

The EHMA - European Hotel Managers Association - was founded in Rome in 1974 by a small group of general managers from various prestigious hotels and is dedicated to the improvement of professional skills and the expansion of the quality of service provided for guests. Currently the association is formed of more than 430 general managers who manage and represent 350 prestigious hotels, in 29 different countries in Europe with 92,000 rooms and 72,000 employees. The members meet once a year to discuss issues of common interest, such as: new technologies, trends, difficulties, interpersonal relations and the European hospitality industry’s market research. To become part of EHMA, members are required to have at least ten years of experience.
