drp staff collecting award
drp collected two award wins at Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards, on Thursday 17th November, at West Midlands Safari Park. drp triumphed winning Medium Employer of the Year, and the top award of the night, Employer of the Year. drp is an advocate of apprenticeships and, over the past three years, drp has utilised apprentice schemes to source and employ new talent in their Head Office in the Midlands as well as offices in London and Leeds.

The Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards honour outstanding apprentices, employers, training providers and schools in the county. Over 300 attended the evening to celebrate excellence in apprenticeship schemes with 12 awards presented to people and businesses in the area.

drp apprenticeship schemes give young people based in Worcestershire, Leeds, and London, the opportunity to join from school or university and mould their skills into a specific role from the start. The process has proved to be extremely successful, with fantastic retention rates and an extremely low staff turnover.

drp’s CEO, Dale Parmenter, commented: “A big congratulations to all our apprentices past and present, and to all the team who mentor, train and help in their development. Apprenticeships provide a great deal of real life experience for the individual, one that cannot be achieved through the normal education route. Three of our board members started as work experience candidates at 16 years old, and over 20 years later they’re still with the company. We are proud to be investing in young apprentices now and in the future, and it is great to have been recognised at the awards.”

80% of drp’s apprentices have stayed on in employment after completing their schemes and drp is continually taking on apprentices in their range of divisions from events to digital, to video, and more.
