Artificial intelligence event app specialist Grip wins #IMEXpitch competition

Tim Groot, CEO and Co-Founder of Grip, the world’s first AI event networking solution
Grip, the company which created the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) event networking solution has won the prestigious #IMEXpitch competition at IMEX America in Las Vegas.
The #IMEXpitch competition saw five event technology start-ups from across the world showcase their products to a live audience of event professionals and a distinguished panel of judges. Grip was voted the winner by the judging panel and also won the live audience poll that took place during the event after CEO and Co-Founder Tim Groot’s convincing pitch.

As the winner, Grip will receive a free space on the Technology Pavilion at next year’s show in addition to national and international publicity. Other contenders taking part in the annual competition included Invite the Media, EventGeek, EventCollab and Showslice.

Judging criteria included practical use of the product, innovative use of technology, ease of implementation, demonstration of a sustainable business model, user adoption to date and the difference to other products on the market. Each company was given five minutes to pitch its product at IMEX including its concept, features and unique selling points.

Tim Groot, CEO of Grip commented: “We were absolutely delighted to win the #IMEXpitch competition, especially as we were up against such a fantastic selection of event technology companies. The team has been working hard to promote and build an effective and ground-breaking networking solution for event organisers so it’s great to have been recognised for our efforts.

“We’ve had a very successful 2016 with Grip’s smart event matchmaking app transforming some high profile events including the Cannes Lions Festival and are looking forward to an even better 2017. At Grip we never stand still and are constantly improving and introducing new innovative changes such as our matchmaking and registration API. We have only just touched on the capabilities of the matchmaking engine and have a whole host of ideas and features that we hope to implement in the new year,” Tim added.

Miguel Neves, Digital Content and Community Manager at IMEX Group concluded: “It was great to see Grip take this coveted prize and the public vote on the day. We are seeing an increasing number of products aiming to facilitate networking between participants at live events and Grip stood out as both advanced in terms of the technology used and the design of the software. It is the best of both worlds when you can use a powerful tool that feels easy to use and can really help you make the most of the time and resources put into participating in each event. I wish Grip a lot of success and look forward to using it myself.”
