The Strand Palace Hotel shines at the LUX Hospitality Awards

The Carvery & Grill at London’s 4* The Strand Palace Hotel has been named the Best Traditional British Restaurant in Central London in the LUX 2016 Hospitality Awards.
Located in the heart of theatre land, The Strand Carvery and Grill has been serving delicious carvery since 1920. The hotel’s highly trained chefs use the best ingredients and premium joints in their dishes, including Surrey Farm Premium Beef, Blythburgh Free Range Pork, and Grove Smith “English Rose” Turkey.

“We are delighted to congratulate the team in winning this amazing accolade” commented General Manger, David MacRae. “Being in the heart of London’s most visited area, we know that our guests look for an authentically British experience and appreciate quality. It is our paramount priority to ensure that we source top quality produce and cook and serve it impeccably. We cater for couples and business people, local residents and theatre-goers. Located so close to most of London’s best theatres we see a lot of guests coming to the Carvery & Grill for a meal before they go see the show.

“We recently re-designed the Carvery & Grill to create a very warm and comfortable ambiance and have changed our menu to fit our guest's needs. For example, years ago being vegetarian was unusual. Nowadays, about 12% of people in the UK are vegetarians and we want to cater to their tastes too. We have excellent vegetarian dishes on the menu so one can enjoy them if dining out with a party of meat-lovers. In general, we have noticed that guests are also a lot more experimental these days and happy to try something new.

“We are also delighted with the LUX 2016 Hospitality Award as it is based on diners' choice.  The award is a testimony to the hard work of the whole team at the restaurant; from the people who source our outstanding produce, to the chefs who consistently cook it so well, and the cheerful and knowledgeable staff who engage with our diners."

The 2016 Hospitality Awards are dedicated to rewarding and recognising the firms, and the individuals behind them, that have worked tirelessly over the past 12 months to achieve industry leading success, client satisfaction and market growth.

Discussing the awards, Awards Coordinator Steve Simpson, said: “Throughout the hospitality industry there are establishments, companies and individuals who are working tirelessly to ensure that they meet guests’ needs and provide them with an experience they will never forget. I am genuinely honoured to be able to recognise the hard work undertaken within this innovative and dedicated industry, and I would like to congratulate all of my winners and wish them every success going forward.”
