Apple Harlequin, the largest and most popular Indian restaurant group in Europe with 13 restaurants, incorporating the famous Ashoka chain, bagged the award following a deluge of public votes.
Sanjay Majhu, CEO Apple Harlequin, said: “I’d like to thank all our customers for their support and I’m delighted to accept this award on behalf of all our hard-working staff. The group has enjoyed a fantastic trading year and winning this award is the icing on the cake: there’s no better award to win than one voted for by the public.”
The Food Awards Scotland, which span 25 categories were designed to recognise the efforts of Scotland’s top restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotels, cafes and bistros, as well as local producers who supply the ingredients.
The Food Awards Scotland were presented earlier this week at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow at a glittering black tie event hosted by Scottish radio personality Gina McKie.
The event helped raise cash for official charity partner, Make A Wish Foundation UK, which grants ‘magical wishes’ to youngsters and children fighting life-threatening conditions.
