Holiday Inn Dumfries “Business Hotel of The Year”

At the 2014 Scottish Hotel Awards, Holiday Inn Dumfries was awarded the title “Business Hotel of the Year” for the Southwest of Scotland. The event was presented at a sell-out gala dinner in Edinburgh attended by over 500 hoteliers and their guests are Scotland’s most comprehensive awards programme for the hotel and accommodation industry.

Established in 2003, this year they were divided into nine regions with the Hotel of the Year selected from the overall national winners of the main categories. Awards were presented by Fergus Ewing, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.

Holiday Inn Dumfries, which was re-branded from Aston Hotel Dumfries to Holiday Inn Dumfries on the 16th of June, took the Regional Hotel Business top prize at the 2014 Scottish Hotel Awards in Edinburgh on Sunday night.

Mel Darwell, General Manager of Holiday Inn Dumfries said: “We are honoured to have received the award. It strengthens our brand reputation and recognition in the area and industry as a whole. The award would not have been possible without the involvement of management and staff in every department – the lifeblood to our hotels success.

Preet Ahluwalia, Director of Dominvs Group, says “With the industry leading and personalized service required to be presented with this award, I am confident our team and hotel will continue its impressive growth in quality of service and offerings to hopefully receive more awards like this in the coming years”.
